Happy [Belated] St. Patrick’s Day!
I started my blogging debut one day too late, but I still thought it befitting to mention yesterday’s holiday. I’m not sure any of you would have had the time to read a St. Paddy’s Day well-wishing, anyway, what with all the celebrating . . . today is surely better- you can read this leisurely as you open your Web browser to Google “green beer stain removal” and nurse a massive hangover.
My St. Patrick’s Day was so-so, the only way it can be when your good drinking friends are out of town and the rest of your friends aren’t big drinkers. But there was some delicious corned beef, potatoes, and cabbage for dinner, with fantastic wine and lime jello (what else?) for dessert, and I managed to talk my mother out of us watching “Darby O Gill and the Little People”. I kid you not- the DVD is still on the table.
So how was your St. Patrick’s Day? How did GLBTQ folks of Irish descent in Modesto celebrate the day? Where were the happenin’ spots to be drinking and singing “Danny Boy”? Did you wear your naughty T-shirt? Leave us some comments!
In the meantime, enjoy one of the few songs out there about being Irish and gay, as performed by comedian Kyle Dunnigan (EDIT: The embedding on the video doesn’t seem to be working , but it’s still a clickable link that’ll take you to the video):
